The body of Kevin Woolf, 32, of Jackson Township, who had been reported missing Tuesday, was found Saturday on the Northampton County side of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, said Bruce Barton of Northeast Search & Rescue.
Woolf’s body was found down a cliff. Two days earlier, on Thursday, his 1997 Suzuki 350 off-road motorcycle was found at the top of that cliff, next to the Appalachian Trail in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation area, south of Delaware Water Gap Borough.
“Our drone would have found him sooner had we had a thermal camera and better weather,” Barton said.
Tuesday was the last Woolf had been in contact with anyone, when he was riding off-road trails from his family’s home in Upper Mount Bethel Township to the home he shared with his girlfriend in Jackson Township.
After he was reported missing Wednesday, more than 60 members of fire companies and search-and-rescue teams from Monroe County and neighboring areas searched the woods of lower Stroud and lower Smithfield townships and Delaware Water Gap Borough.
Neither state police nor the Northampton County Coroner’s Office had yet released any further details to the Pocono Record as of Sunday morning.
