Followup to Rt 33 Accident: Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident on Rt 33 North at Milemarker 19.4
UPDATE 4:49 pm 9/24/16: The Monroe County Coroner Robert Allen identified the 18 y/o woman as Angela Stephens of Pen Argyl, she was declared dead at the scene at 1:17 a.m.
UPDATE 08:27 am 9/24/16: According to Police the car veered off the road just after midnight at mile marker 19.6 for unknown reasons.
The 2006 Ford Escape struck an embankment and flipped several times, before crashing into a large traffic sign and landing back on the highway. The driver, an 18-year-old female, was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.

Originally it was dispatched as a multi vehicle accident on Rt 33 North at Milemarker 19.4 (just north of wind gap), we have told by a passerby that the accident was a single vehicle rollover that resulted in a fatality. We will attempt to get confirmation on that when it becomes available.
Rt 33 North was closed at the Wind Gap off exit and traffic diverted on to 512.
2:24 am Rt 33 North remains closed at this time for a Accident Investigation. No other details are known at this time.
