On July 28, 2017, Detectives from the Monroe County District Attorney's Office arrested and charged JENNY SCHLEPPY, 30 of Center Valley, PA after she was found to be in possession of various controlled substances within the Monroe County Correctional Facility in Hamilton Township, Monroe County.
Schleppy was initially arrested by the Pennsylvania State Police on July 27 th, 2017 for an outstanding warrant out of Lehigh County. She was lodged in the Monroe County Correctional Facility awaiting extradition.
When she entered into the facility corrections officers conducted a routine strip search, where they located over fifty Xanax pills. During that search, Schleppy told the officer that she had a tampon in her vagina and the officer instructed her to retrieve it. The officer observed Schleppy attempting to retrieve something out of her vagina, however, she produced nothing. Then the officer instructed her to squat and cough, which she did and nothing came out.
Schleppy was placed in a cell in the intake area of the prison. At approximately 0530 am the following day she told officers that she wanted to kill herself, saying that she was going to overdose. Because of the threat to kill herself, officers moved her up to a level one watch, meaning that she is alone in a cell with only a smock and constantly monitored by an officer. As part of putting someone on a level one watch the correctional facility again strip searches the inmate and searches their cell.
Upon searching the cell officers located several baggies. The baggies were found to actually be rubber glove fingers, which were tied off and contained various controlled substances. Schleppy admitted to a deputy warden that the baggies contained Molly (MDMA), bath salts and crystal meth. Schleppy had concealed these items within her vagina.
Charges were filed with MDJ JOLANA KRAWITZ. Schleppy was arraigned by video by MDJ KRAWITZ and bail was set at $25,000.
The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the incident involving the Xanax in her underwear.
