Death Investigation Ruled Natural in Albrightsville

PENN TOWNSHIP: State Police report that on Sunday 04/29/18 at approximately 11:38 am PSP Fern Ridge responded to the 2000 block of SR 534 in Albrightsville for a report of an unresponsive female inside of her residence.

Kathleen Vitanza of Albrightsville was discovered at approximately 10:00 am by her husband Carl Arthur Vitanza with no pulse and called 911.

After further investigation, it was discovered that Kathleen Vitanza was suffering from several different medical issues such as diabetes, emphysema, and COPD due to heavy smoking.

The Carbon County Deputy Coroner Meri Jones arrived on scene and pronounced Kathleen Vitanza deceased at 11:31 am.  Deputy Coroner Meri Jones related that there were no signs of foul play and stated the manner of death to be from natural causes.

Lehighton EMS assisted on the scene.
