Deer Park Natural Spring Water and Eldred Township has scheduled a public meeting next month to discuss its potential water harvesting project in Eldred Township.

The meeting will take place July 22 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Kunkletown Fire Hall.

Deer Park — a division of Nestle — is testing the feasibility of withdrawing up to 200,000 gallons per day of spring water from the Ricky Gower property near Kunkletown Road and Chestnut Ridge Drive, behind the Kunkletown general store.

The water would be pumped out of the ground and trucked to Deer Park bottling facilities in Breinigsville, southwest of Allentown.

No formal proposal to withdraw the water has yet been submitted to Eldred Township. The proposal also would require permits from state Department of Environmental Protection and the Delaware River Basin Commission.

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission also would play a role in the regulatory review process.

  1. It’s time the people in this country wise up because someday water will cost more than oil,and you can’t drink oil.200’000gallons a day is a lot of water to take out of the ground,it’s time we start to conserve our water supplies before it’s too late.We have enough water parks and other wasteful use of our ground water supplies.wise up people before it’s too late.

Thanks for the warning! I won’t be drinking Deer Park! Our water is contaminated with over 14 neurotoxins and carcinogens. Look up the water report for 2014 it will make your head spin. The chemicals are from farming pesticides steel mills and leaded gasoline that leached into the rivers and our drinking water. These chemicals have been banned in 169 countries since the 70’s yet we still have them.
