Effort man wanted after he allegedly hit his ex-girlfriend
An Effort man is facing simple assault charges after police say he hit his ex-girlfriend several times on May 29 at 12:30 p.m.
Police say Brian Robert Mathious struck his ex-girlfriend several times after they had a verbal argument and police say they are still looking for him.
The female, 18, ran on foot to a neighbor's house to contact state police at Fern Ridge.
Police say Mathious fled in a gray Subaru Impreza before state police arrived.
West End EMS responded to the scene.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Mathious.
Police ask that anyone with information on his whereabouts call state police at Fern Ridge at 646-2271.
