It’s that time of year again.  The Effort United Methodist Church on Merwinsburg Road off Route 115 in Effort, will be having its semi-annual Chicken Barbecue Dinner.  Bring a friend, bring your family or just come and enjoy ours.

This event was started in 1974 and still going strong. This dinner is such a great event our menu hasn’t changed in 42 years and our Spring event sold out!  To avoid this we are ordering extra chicken halves and will be selling prepaid tickets guaranteeing a meal.

Prepaid tickets are $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for children.

Contact the church office at 570-629-1890 ext. 104 to purchase your prepaid ticket.

Once again, our menu consists of the famous Roasted Chicken Half, baked potato, delicious corn on the cob and your choice of our secret recipe creamed cabbage (Cole slaw) or applesauce.

Your meal also comes with a split top roll, whipped butter wonderful homemade assorted desserts and your choice of coffee, tea or lemonade.

Mark your calendar, Saturday, August 19^th  from *1:00 pm until 7:00 pm. bring your appetite, come early and we will look forward to seeing you here.

The cost for Non-Prepaid Patrons Eating in or Taking out is $11.00 for Adults, $5.00 for children 4-12 yrs., free for children 3 and under. *Take out orders only from 1:00 pm. Dining in begins at 3:00 pm.
