Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Company Cancels their Annual Carnival
In a statement posted on Facebook on April 4th, 2019 the Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Company has Canceled their Annual Carnival for 2019 and into the future:
As you might remember we published an article in 2017 announcing that the West End Volunteer Fire Company canceled its annual Carnival citing that with increased costs and dwindling community support that they were barely breaking even.
It is sad to see these events disappear, but with increasing costs for Insurance, Prizes, Food, and the dwindling volunteer population this is what happens. Please support your local Volunteer Fire Companies in their other Fundraising events throughout the year.
Our Volunteer Fire Companies provide a Great service to our communities, but without volunteers, they could have to make the decision to close down and no one wants to see that happen so, please Volunteer. Although all Volunteer Fire Companies need Volunteer Firefighters they also need Volunteers for other areas like fundraising. Contact your Local Volunteer Fire Company to find out how you can help.
