Below is some additional information that we have posted before:
Local Bestselling Author KL Randis is Generously Hosting a $1000.00 Stuff-A-Shoebox Showdown on December 10th, 2016 from 1:00 pm until the money runs out at Dollar Tree in the old Ames Plaza 1421 Rt 209 Brodheadsville as you will read in her own words below. With KL Randis's Generous Donation Teri Buerkle's effort to get 250 stuffed shoeboxes will still be 120 shoeboxes short and she still needs help to reach her goal to make 250 Children's Christmas a Happy one so if you can, please donate an additional stuffed shoebox. And Please Read the whole story and Share it with your Friend's and Family.
Teri Buerkle will have volunteers at this event to wrap the showboxes that are purchased at the $1000 Stuff-A-Shoebox Showdown and if you do bring an additional shoebox with you and cannot wrap it Teri's volunteers will be able to. Now on to KL Randis's own words about the $1000 Stuff-A-Shoebox Showdown:
From Author KL Randis:
Christmas morning is the one time a year children wake up to the magic and excitement of opening gifts under their Christmas tree. Unfortunately, this is not always the case in Monroe County, PA. When I first learned of Teri Buerkle's effort on the news to fill 250 shoeboxes with toys for the Monroe County's West End Food Pantry I knew I had to get involved. She has about 30 boxes filled, which means 220 boxes are unaccounted for to hit the 250 box goal.
I understand that the holiday season sometimes means people struggle for ways to "give back" because of financial or time constraints. So for this event, there's NO EXCUSE to not get involved, here's why:
-I am personally donating $1,000 to be used at Dollar Tree 1421 Rt 209 (the old Ames Plaza) Brodheadsville, PA starting at 1:00 pm until the money runs out to fill shoeboxes.
-Each person who shows up (man, child or woman) will be given $10 at the door and a slip of paper (pink or blue) to help designate what gender fun (or neutral) things to fill their boxes with.
-THAT'S IT! This will give **100 people** the opportunity to fill a shoebox with goodies (toys, toothbrushes, socks, etc) to help make a child's Christmas morning even more magical.
If you can bring you own shoebox, PLEASE DO!
If you can fill your shoebox with even more, PLEASE DO!
If you can't attend but want to help & share this even, PLEASE DO!
KL Randis has set up an Event page for the $1000 Stuff-A-Shoebox Showdown which you can access by Clicking Here for updates, we will also be updating the location of the $1000 Stuff-A-Shoebox Showdown as soon as we get it. We also plan to do a Live Broadcast on our Facebook page The West End of Monroe County for the event.
