Man Charged with Attempted Homicide for the Shooting of Four People in Effort
CHESTNUTHILL TOWNSHIP: On May 11, 2019, at 2008 hours, Pennsylvania State Police Fern Ridge Barracks received multiple emergency calls from individuals around the outside vicinity of 843 Toll Road in Effort, reporting gunshots outside of the aforementioned address.
The emergency calls reported a single male shooter and at least four victims. PSP Fern Ridge Patrol Troopers and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene. Upon arrival, EMS provided care to the four victims and transported them to Leigh Valley Pocono Campus for treatment of sustained gunshot wounds.
Through Interviews, it was learned Actor Thomas George Modzel pointed a black and camouflage in color Mossberg SOOA 12 gauge shotgun at the four Victims, and fired multiple rounds at them.
Modzel was charged with Criminal Attempt Homicide, Aggravated Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person and Simple Assault. Trooper Gabrielle Giello is investigating.

UPDATE: EMS asked MCCC to contact LVH-Pocono to see if they will accept 4 Gunshot Victims, all 4 Victims are Class Three and were shot with Bird Shot 2033hrs
1 Victim was shot in the Eye Lid and the other Victims in the legs and abdomen.
