Monroe County Investigating Grand Jury Presentment – Pleasant Valley School District

Stroudsburg - On Tuesday, November 28, 2017 the Eighth Monroe County Investigating Grand Jury at Case # 8/10-2017 (Pleasant Valley School District Investigation) issued a Presentment. On the following day, President Judge Margherita Patti-Worthington, the Supervising Judge of the Grand Jury, entered an Order accepting the Presentment and referring the matter to the Office of District Attorney for further action.

In the Presentment, the Grand Jury found reasonable grounds to believe that Mr. Joshua Krebs, Supervisor of Support Staff and Mr. Alex Sterenchok, Technology Supervisor, violated 18 Pa.C.S 5703 when, on or about April 5-6, 2016, they placed a recording device atop a vending machine in the Faculty Break room of the Pleasant Valley Elementary School. The Device recorded both video and audio from the afternoon/evening of April 5 through the end of the following school day.

The Grand Jury’s Recommendations include charging both Mr. Krebs and Mr. Sterenchok with felony violations for the wiretapping as well as criminal conspiracy. The Grand Jury further recommends that it continue its investigation of the School District into allegations of Bribery in Official and Political Matters (18 Pa.C.S 4701), Threats and Improper Influence in Official and Political Matters (18 Pa.C.S, 4702), Retaliation for Past Official Action (18 Pa.C.S. 4703), and Official Oppression (18 Pa.C.S. 5301).

Detectives of the Office are currently preparing criminal complaints and affidavits for the review and consideration of the District Attorney in furtherance of the Presentment.
