Moose Toys Recalls Toy Frogs Due to Chemical and Injury Hazards
Announcement:
At Moose Toys, the safety of consumers is our top priority. Purely as a precautionary measure, the Company has decided to voluntarily recall the Little Live Pet Lil Frog (SKU: 28217) and Lil Frog Lily Pad (SKU: 28218) products. The recall is due to a design defect which could cause a safety issue. If the batteries cap is removed it can become a projectile and the chemicals can leak posing chemical and injury hazards.
This voluntary recall is only limited to these two Frog products and does not impact any other items in the Little Live Pets range.
Customers who have either of these products are asked to stop using them and arrange a return to Moose Toys [Click Here to Contact]. Although there is minimal risk of injury, customers are asked not to open the Frog’s battery compartment or remove the batteries.
Please contact us on the above details for information regarding the return or disposal of the product. A process has been established to offer all consumers a free replacement product.
Moose Toys is working cooperatively with the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC), the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission and all relevant authorities on this voluntary recall.
Incidents/Injuries:
The firm has received 17 reports of the battery’s cap becoming a projectile or battery chemicals leaking, including two injuries that resulted in emergency room and doctor’s office visits for eye irritation from the battery chemicals.
