Motor Vehicle Accident Rt 33 North Milemarker 22.2 Hamilton Township

There is a 2 car motor vehicle accident on Rt 33 North near milemarker 22.2 , one car is reported to be fully engulfed. Unknown injuries at this time.

The original dispatch call was for a Pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle, we are not sure if is still the case.

Rt 33 North is shut down at this time.

From the radio traffic it sounds like it is between the Lehighton and Snydersville exits.

UPDATE 2:00 am: Fire command is requesting a MediVac Helicopter.

UPDATE 2:05 am: MediVac is 4 minutes out.

UPDATE 2:09 am: Fire command is requesting a third ALS unit to the accident scene.

UPDATE 2:12 am: MediVac on the ground.

UPDATE 2:12 am: Fire Command stated that they are missing a female patient and for fire personal to start searching over the embankment.

UPDATE 2:16 am: The missing female has been located, apparently she was near the rear of the helicopter.

Blue Ridge Hook and Ladder, West End Ambulance, St Luke's EMS, Regional EMS and State Police responding.
