Thief caught at Brodheadsville ShopRite

A Sciota man is accused of stealing more than $60 in merchandise from the ShopRite in Brodheadsville on Friday night, according to state police at Fern Ridge.

Michael Allan Peters, 59, was taken into custody by ShopRite employees around 10:10 p.m. While in custody, he also admitted to stealing $40 worth of groceries on Feb. 17. The items that Peters allegedly stole, both on Friday and Feb. 17, were not specified.

Police filed citations through district court for retail theft.
