Toys For Tots Donation Jar (Various Businesses Tip Jars) Thief Captured.
On Wednesday December 21st, 2016, at approximately 10 AM, the Stroud Area Regional Police stopped 23 years old Michael Matthew Moya, from East Stroudsburg, for an outstanding felony warrant involving the theft of a four wheeler from a residence in Stroud Township. Earlier in the week, Moya had also been identified as a suspect for the recent theft at the Arlington Diner.
Through SARPD investigation, security camera footage, and witness information, Moya was found to be the actor involved with the following thefts :
• theft of a “Toys For Tots” donation jar from the Arlington Diner located on North Ninth Street in Stroud Township.
• thefts of tips jars from Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, Crystal Street Café, Palumbo’s Pizza, and others
• the theft of medication when Moya jumped over the pharmacy counter of the Rite Aid on North Courtland Street in East Stroudsburg
Moya was committed into the Monroe County Prison in lieu of $10,000.00 cash bail after arraignment by District justice Higgins on the felony warrant. Additional charges will be filed related to the other incidents.
