Banned Books Week is September 27th, 2016 through October 3rd, 2016.
This year WPCL’s choice for Banned Book Week is Johnny Got His Gun by Dalton Trumbo. Johnny Got His Gun is an anti-war novel written in 1938 by American novelist and screenwriter Dalton Trumbo and published September 1939 by J. B. Lippincott.
The novel won one of the early National Book Awards: the Most Original Book of 1939. Copies of this controversial book are available at the Library!
The Banned Book discussion is on Wednesday, September 28th at 6:30 pm at the Western Pocono Community Library 131 Pilgrim Way, Brodheadsville, PA 18322.
